Tri-Nations Esport Cup returns for 2024

Following a successful debut in 2023, the representative Tri-Nations Esport Cup series between New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom is returning for 2024.

In a similar format to 2023, the series will pit the ten fastest qualifying drivers from each country against each other in a double-header event on Sunday 4 August.

Held on the popular iRacing simulator, competitors will get two chances to qualify for the event with pre-qualifying sessions taking place for 24 hours from 11:00pm NZT on both 13 and 20 July. Using the Porsche 911 GT3 R at Laguna Seca, the ten fastest drivers from each country will then progress to the Cup event a fortnight later on Sunday 4 August.

The Tri-Nations Esport Cup will take place over two races, again using the Porsche 911 GT3 R. Starting at 7:00pm NZT with practice, qualifying and 30-minute races at both Mount Panorama and Silverstone.

Giltrap Group Motorsport have confirmed their support of the New Zealand team in the Tri-Nations Cup, with the cohort to be officially known as Team MotorSport New Zealand Powered by Giltrap Group Motorsport. The highest-placed driver in the team will receive a special prize pack from Giltrap Group Motorsport.

National pride won’t be the only thing on the line thanks to Next Level Racing. The overall winner will receive a Next Level Racing GT Elite Wheelplate Edition, ERS3 Seat and Direct Monitor Mount to bolster their esport set-up. The top driver from each region will also go home with a Next Level Racing HF8 Haptic Feedback Pad as will one randomly drawn competitor who competes in the pre-qualifying events.

The Tri-Nations Esport Cup is an official Esport event between FIA National Sporting Authorities MotorSport New Zealand, Motorsport Australia and Motorsport UK. Competitors will require a MotorSport New Zealand Esport Pass to be eligible for prizes and the Cup event.

Fans will be able to follow the action with a live broadcast by leading esport motorsport producers RaceSpot TV.

Competitors can view full event details and sign up for their MotorSport New Zealand Esport Pass, which includes a free 12-month iRacing Membership for new users, at www.motorsport.org.nz/esport.
